Outrigger Reef hotel

Has anyone stayed at this hotel, if so do you know if they provide free sun beds? When booking they wanted me to add day beds at 100 dollars a day? Thank you

The Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort in Honolulu is a popular beachfront hotel known for its central location on Waikiki Beach and traditional Hawaiian ambiance. When it comes to beach amenities, specifically sun beds and day beds, here’s what you should know:

Typically, standard lounge chairs directly on the beach or by the pool are provided for hotel guests, but these are usually limited in number and may be available on a first-come, first-served basis. Premium day beds or cabanas, which are larger and more private, are often not included in the room rate and require an additional daily fee, which can be around $100 per day depending on the season and demand.

From guest experiences and recent reports:

  • Standard sun loungers are usually free for hotel guests, but availability can vary, especially during peak travel times.
  • Day beds or cabanas are typically optional and come with a daily charge, which is what you noticed during booking.
  • Some guests have mentioned that arriving early in the morning improves chances of getting free loungers on the beach without paying extra.
  • Poolside seating is generally included, though premium cabanas there also carry extra fees.

Recommendations:

  • If having a guaranteed day bed is important to you, reserving it ahead of time may be worth the fee. Otherwise, plan to arrive early to claim a standard free lounger.
  • Check with the hotel directly to confirm current beach and pool seating policies, as these can change seasonally or due to resort events.
  • Consider bringing your own lightweight beach mat or towel as a backup in case all loungers are occupied.

Overall, the Outrigger Reef provides good access to the beach, and while premium day beds are optional, free loungers are generally available to guests if you plan ahead.
