- Grand Plaza Garage: This garage is located at 540 N. State Street, which is indeed very close to many downtown attractions, including the Magnificent Mile, River North, and the Loop. Given its location, it's a good choice for tourists who want easy access to the city's main areas while avoiding sky-high parking rates in some of the more expensive garages in the area.
- Cost: $86 for 3 days is a competitive rate for parking in the heart of downtown Chicago. Prices can vary depending on availability, but it’s certainly more affordable than many other garages in the area, especially if you’re staying nearby. Double-check that the rate on SpotHero covers the exact dates and times of your stay to avoid any surprises.
- Booking in Advance: While you might be able to find parking the day of, it’s generally a good idea to book your spot in advance. For a stay in July, it would be wise to book at least a week or two in advance to secure the best rate and avoid last-minute price hikes or the possibility of the garage being fully booked. Parking availability can be tight during the summer months, particularly when events are taking place in the city.
Additional Tips:

- Alternative Parking: If Grand Plaza Garage becomes unavailable or if you're looking for another option, there are many other parking garages within a short walking distance in River North and the Loop. However, they tend to be pricier, especially closer to major tourist destinations.
- Parking Validation: If you plan to eat at or visit any restaurants or shops near the garage, check if they offer parking validation, which could further reduce your parking costs.
Overall, the Grand Plaza Garage is a solid choice for both affordability and convenience. Just be sure to book early to ensure a guaranteed spot and a good rate. Have a wonderful time in Chicago!
