I was looking forward to trying this place because Poipu is lacking in good places for breakfast.
The pros:
1. The setting. This place is in Kukuiula Village, second floor, open-air. It's the location of the old Tortilla Republic.
Unfortunately, this is the only positive thing I can say. Service was slow and disjointed. They could've used another wait person but even with that the service was scattered. Meals bringing brought out at different times, never got my coffee after asking 3 times. The food was all overcooked. Scrambled eggs were dry and crusty. My sons steak and eggs were well beyond well done, more like burnt, even though he asked for medium rare. Everyone felt the breakfast was bland and overcooked. The menu was extensive Maybe breakfast just isn't their forte.
It sounds like this new breakfast spot in Poipu, located in Kukuiula Village on the second floor in an open-air setting, offers a beautiful ambiance. The location itself is a strong point, especially for visitors looking to enjoy a nice atmosphere while dining.
However, based on your experience, there appear to be several areas where the restaurant is struggling, particularly with service and food quality:
For those planning to visit, it may be worth considering these points:
In summary, while the setting and location are promising, the current execution of breakfast service appears inconsistent, and it may not yet be the best choice for those seeking a reliable morning meal in Poipu.
