Maui condo Jan 16-23/26

Hi there

I am looking to book a reasonably priced condo for the week of January 16-23. We are an active couple in our 60s. Would prefer not to rent a car but could if necessary. Any suggestions?

For a couple in their 60s who prefer not to rent a car, it’s important to choose a location in Maui that offers easy access to attractions, dining, and activities within walking distance or via public transportation. Based on your preferences, here are a few suggestions for reasonably priced condos that may suit your needs:

1. Kihei (South Maui)

Kihei is a great area to stay if you want easy access to beaches, restaurants, shops, and some local attractions without needing a car. The area has a variety of affordable condos, and the beaches here are perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and walking. You will also find several restaurants within walking distance, so it’s an ideal spot if you don’t want to rent a car.

  • Kihei Akahi – This complex offers affordable one-bedroom condos with ocean views, close to the beach, and walking distance to restaurants and shops.
  • Mana Kai Maui – Located right on Keawakapu Beach, Mana Kai offers fully equipped condos with oceanfront views and is within walking distance to several shops and restaurants. They also have shuttle services that can take you to nearby attractions.

2. Lahaina (West Maui)

Lahaina is a historic town with a charming atmosphere. It’s a popular area for tourists and has many shops, art galleries, restaurants, and access to the beach. You can explore the town on foot, and there are local buses or shuttles to get around if needed.

  • Lahaina Shores Beach Resort – A budget-friendly beachfront property located within walking distance to downtown Lahaina, where you’ll find shops, galleries, and dining options. The property has a pool, and you can enjoy beautiful sunsets from the beachfront.
  • Royal Lahaina Resort – Although on the higher end of "reasonably priced," Royal Lahaina offers condo-style accommodations with ocean views and is in a prime location for exploring Lahaina on foot.

3. Wailea (South Maui)

Wailea is a more upscale area compared to Kihei, but you can still find reasonably priced condos here, especially if you book in advance. Wailea is known for its luxurious feel, beautiful beaches, and well-maintained properties. Many resorts offer easy access to walking paths along the beach, and some have shuttle services to get around the area.

  • Wailea Ekahi Village – A beachfront property with affordable condo rentals. It’s located within walking distance to several beaches and has access to Wailea's walking path, which connects to nearby beaches and resorts.
  • Grand Champion Villas – This property offers spacious condos and is close to several beaches and the Shops at Wailea, making it convenient for those who don’t want to rent a car.

4. Considerations for Not Renting a Car

If you choose not to rent a car, staying in Kihei, Lahaina, or Wailea is your best bet. These areas offer plenty to do without needing a car. Many of the condo complexes also provide shuttle services to popular attractions, or you can easily book guided tours, local excursions, or taxis. If you're looking for the ability to get around on foot, these locations are ideal. Public buses are also available, but they may not be as frequent or convenient as the other options mentioned.

Overall, all of these areas have great beach access, dining options, and activities that should make your stay enjoyable without the need for a rental car. Just be sure to check the specific condo rental policies regarding car availability and nearby amenities to find the best fit for your trip!
