Kawaihao Church Parking

Where to park?

Kawaihao Church is located in downtown Honolulu, and parking in the area can be limited due to its central location. Fortunately, there are several options nearby for both short-term visits and longer stays.

On-site parking is extremely limited, so most visitors use nearby street parking or public lots. Be aware of posted signs and meters, as downtown Honolulu enforces parking regulations strictly.

  • Street parking: Metered spaces are available on Beretania Street, Richards Street, and nearby side streets. Meters generally allow 2-hour parking, and payment is required during business hours.
  • Public parking lots: Several paid lots are within walking distance. For example, the Arts & Cultural District lot on Bishop Street or the Kapuaiwa Street lot offers hourly and daily rates.
  • Hotel or commercial parking: Some nearby hotels or commercial buildings may offer paid parking, but rates can be higher than public lots.

For those attending services or events at the church, it’s a good idea to arrive early to secure a convenient spot. Walking a few blocks from a public lot is usually manageable, and downtown Honolulu has sidewalks and crosswalks making it fairly pedestrian-friendly.

Alternative options include using rideshare services or taxis, especially if you want to avoid searching for parking during peak hours.
