Watch the sunrise at Yushan Island and see the blue-eyed people hitting the shore. Attached is the route to Yushan Island.

Preface

Hidden away in the far southeastern sea of Ningbo's Xiangshan District lies a pristine island known as "Yushan." In the past few years, fishing has been a primary attraction here, earning it the reputation of "Asia's No. 1 Fishing Ground."

Perhaps it's the azure sea, the captivating blue fluorescent seascapes that often appear there, or perhaps it's the pure beauty that's so unique to East China's islands. Only in recent years has Yushan Island become increasingly well-known to island tourists.

First acquaintance

When we refer to Yushan Island, we're referring to Beiyushan, part of the Yushan Islands. The image above is a panoramic view of Beiyushan. Aside from the fishing village and a few scenic spots, there's no other sign of development. Beiyushan is small, only 0.5 square kilometers, and a circumnavigation takes only an hour or two.
Visitors typically stay only 24 hours, but that's plenty of time to experience the island's charm: turquoise seas and skies, sunrises and sunsets, camping under the stars, seafood and ocean breezes, the lighthouse and reefs, the "blue tears" of spring and summer, and the wildflowers that blanket the mountains.

Know

Located in the open sea, Yushan Island doesn't have the fishy smell of nearshore waters, but instead offers a sense of freedom, spaciousness, and freshness. A deep breath, and the breath of the deep sea, is refreshing and refreshing.

The water on the rocky shore is very clear because there is no sand or mud. The azure sea and the blue sky are so beautiful.

Heart-pounding moment, follow the introduction of pictures and texts and go deep into Beiyushan Island.

Yushan Island Highlights

Blue Tears

On summer evenings, the pitch-black waters glow with faint blue light. Driven by the waves, the blue light radiates across the surface, creating a hazy glow along the coastline, reminiscent of an exotic wonderland from a film. Have you ever seen such a spectacle? It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The blue tears of Yushan Island usually appear in April and May each year, and can last until June and July if the climatic conditions are good. If you want to see the blue tears, you need good weather, clear weather and south wind to have a chance.

Wildflowers all over the island

Yushan Island is in the peak season for flowers to bloom in April and May, which is the time of the year that attracts the most tourists.

Facing the sea, with spring flowers blooming, when you see the wild flowers all over the island, you can no longer think of better words to describe it.

Sea fishing

The Yushan Islands are known as "Asia's No. 1 Fishing Ground". They are located at the intersection of the North and South ocean currents and are rich in fish, shellfish and algae resources, with a total of more than 300 kinds of marine specialties.

The sea fishing season in Yushan Islands lasts for 10 months throughout the year, from March to December. At the same time, various sea fishing activities such as rock fishing, trolling, and boat fishing can be carried out.

Sign Lighthouse

The red and white lighthouse is the symbol of Yushan Island, known as the "largest lighthouse in the Far East." The original construction of the Yushan Island lighthouse was completed in the 21st year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty. The Shanghai Customs spent 50,000 taels of silver on it, initially consisting of just the tower and the light fixture. The lighthouse was destroyed twice, and the current one was rebuilt in 1985 on the original site with approval from the Ministry of Transportation.

Immortal Bridge

When you walk on the island, it is a "bridge", but when you look at it from the sea, it is a huge "doorway", which is a masterpiece of nature.

The "Immortal Bridge" is located in the air and spans above the raging waves. Lying on the bridge and looking down, one can feel the wind coming from all directions, the sound of waves rolling like thunder, and the "bridge" beneath one seems to be shaking and tossing, as if it will capsize in an instant.

Wuhu Reef

Wuhu Reef, located east of Beiyushan Island, is a baseline reef in my country's territorial waters. Seen from Beiyushan Island, Wuhu Reef, which appears to consist of five islands and reefs, is actually made up of eight islands and reefs of varying sizes, with the rest obscured by the angle.

How to get to the island

Yushan Island is 27 nautical miles from the mainland, requiring a ferry from Shipu, Xiangshan District, Ningbo. Due to a daily limit of 500 people, and only one or two ferry trips per day, ferry tickets from Shipu to Yushan Island are often in short supply during holidays. Furthermore, the distance makes the sea more susceptible to weather, so it's important to pay close attention to the weather before your trip.

If you want to go to Yushan Island independently, you can refer to the following suggestions:

Accommodation and food on the island

stay

There are two ways to stay on the island: B&B and camping.

After all, it is an island far away from the mainland, and the living conditions on the island are relatively average: electricity is limited and fresh water is in short supply.

Because new buildings on the island require approval from relevant departments, the homestays on the island are all renovated by the farmers themselves.

There are dedicated campsites on the island, and tent rentals are available. Most visitors recommend camping for the perfect view of sunrise and sunset.

B&B: Charged per person, generally need to order three meals a day, about 350 yuan per person, 2-3 people room, the price of each home is similar, weekends and holidays prices are slightly higher.

Camping: Each B&B offers camping equipment rental for around 100 yuan a day. You can shower at night in the B&B where you rent a tent, for 10-20 yuan per person.

diet

The custom on the island is to eat at the hotel where you stay.

Breakfast is simple, consisting of porridge and steamed buns, while lunch and dinner are all fresh seafood. For lunch and dinner, you need to share a table, usually 8-10 people per table, and the portions are generous, so you're guaranteed to be full.

If you're camping, dining at a B&B costs around 100 yuan per person for lunch and dinner, and you'll also need to share a table. The advantage of dining at a B&B is that there's a wider variety of dishes, including plenty of freshly caught seafood.

There are few restaurants on the island, but there are seafood noodle shops. A bowl of seafood noodles costs about 25 yuan. If you want to save money, you can also bring some convenience foods and fresh water with you.

Precautions

1. You need to check the weather before traveling. If you encounter a typhoon, you will not be able to go to the island.

2. The sea is rough, so it is recommended to bring seasickness medicine and take it before boarding the ship.

3. There is a power limit on the island, so remember to bring a power bank, especially when camping.

4. The island boasts a pristine natural environment, and the sun is incredibly scorching, so be prepared for sun protection and mosquito repellent. The winds can be very strong on the island, so if you choose to wear a sun hat, make sure it has a strap.

5. There is no beach on Yushan Island, and the shore is full of reefs. It is not only easy to get scratched, but there are no professional lifeguards if an accident occurs, so swimming is strictly prohibited.

6. Pay attention to environmental protection. All personnel are requested not to throw away garbage and cigarette butts (it is best to take the garbage off the island).

7. Mosquitoes on the island are generally fierce, so remember to bring mosquito repellent and zip up the tent in time when entering and leaving.

8. About camping equipment: double-layer waterproof tent, sleeping bag, moisture-proof mat, ground mat, headlamp, camping stove, outdoor clothes, food, water, etc.

Conclusion

Learn to enjoy yourself! Only then will you have the opportunity to enjoy the sunrise and sunset, the starry sky and the sea, camping and delicious food, and take endless beautiful photos.
