Check out China's most beautiful plateau wetlands and their pristine natural scenery! Known as the Earth's natural treasure house

Preface

When talking about wetlands, people will think of the natural landscape of interweaving land and water and a variety of wild animals, which seems to be synonymous with "original ecological travel".

As one of the most unique ecosystems on Earth, wetlands are known as the "Kidneys of the Earth". They have formed swamps, lakes, river banks and even rice fields in the plateau and mountainous areas of inland my country. With their rich diversity, they have become a poetic habitat for people.

Inner Mongolia

Surrounded by Daxingan, wetlands and distant mountains form the most beautiful scenery

Stretching out in the heart of the endless grassland

Washing out soil wherever the river reaches

As far as the eye can see, there is the lake as calm as a mirror, and there are birds swimming on the lake.

Genhe Wetland

This is the largest wetland in Asia and the lifeline of northern Hulunbuir.

Genhe River originates from the heart of Greater Khingan Range, and flows southwest like a strong pulse. It becomes flat in Hulunbuir and merges into the mother river, Ergun River.

The wetland sprouted on the banks of the Genhe River. The abundant water injected infinite vitality into the soil, and dense wetland forests came into being, giving the grassland more distinct four seasons.

The two major wetland parks we often visit, Ergun Wetland Park and Genheyuan Wetland Park, show two faces of Genhe Wetland.

The Ergun wetland stretches across the heart of the vast grasslands. Lush greenery breaks through the soil wherever the river reaches, providing a home for birds that wander the grasslands. The gentle nature of the wetland has endowed Ergun with fertile soil and water, driving the city towards prosperity.

The Genheyuan wetland and the distant mountains form the most beautiful picture. Autumn best reflects its personality. The north wind dyes the Xing'an deciduous forest, the distant mountains are misty, the water is clear, and the forest is quiet.

Zhalong Wetland

In the narrow passage between Daqing and Qiqihar, there is a lake and reed area in the lower reaches of the Wuyur River, dotted with lakes. This wetland has a unified name, called Zhalong.

Zhalong Wetland is the largest reed wetland in Asia and the fourth largest in the world.

Zhalong is the hometown of cranes, and Qiqihar is also known as the "Crane City" because it is backed by Zhalong.

There are 15 species of cranes in the world, 9 of which are found in China and 6 in Zhalong. There are less than 2,000 red-crowned cranes in the world, and more than 400 of them live in Zhalong.

Along the shores of the pearly-shaped Crane Lake, reeds sway in the wind, a bright red dot looms, and a slender white feather flutters out. A wooden plank road runs alongside the lake, and everywhere you look, you're greeted by the mirror-like tranquility of the water, dotted with birds swimming across its surface. At this moment, you can truly experience the joy of "free and unrestrained."

If you want to experience more primitive wetland scenery, you have to go south along the S201 Provincial Road. There are beautiful lake views on both sides of the road. You need to stay there for a long time to capture the wild fun.

Xinjiang

Xinjiang, a vast and sparsely populated region, is a paradise surrounded by snow-capped mountains.

The absolute volume of lakes ranked among the top

This has led to the formation of natural wetlands with unique characteristics.

This pure original state is monopolistic and irreplaceable

Bayinbuluke Wetland

The Bayinbuluke Wetland is located in a mountain basin in the central Tianshan Mountains. It is surrounded by snow-capped mountains. A large number of marsh grasslands and lakes have been formed by meltwater from ice and snow and local rainfall, and some areas are also supplied by groundwater.

Less affected by human activities, it has preserved various rare species and was selected as the second of the "Six Most Beautiful Wetlands in China" by National Geographic China. The local swans and the Tianshan Snow Mountain as the background make Bayinbuluke like a fairy tale world with lush water and grass, beautiful scenery, and its unique charm.

Taheman Wetland

The Taheman Wetland, a rare grassland on the Pamir Plateau in southern Xinjiang, lies at the foot of Muztagh Ata, the "Father of Glaciers," and on the shores of Karakul Lake. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains, the low-lying area is fed by numerous mountain springs, forming the largest grassland wetland in Tashkurgan.

The Taheman Wetland is known as the "place where the sacred flowers multiply". In Tajik legend, this name comes from a young warrior who climbed to the top of Muztagh Ata and brought back two sacred flowers from the "Paradise of God" and planted them in what is now Taheman. From then on, the desolate Taheman was transformed into a meadow with blooming flowers, and the Pamir Plateau gradually flourished.

Tibet

On the seemingly deserted plateau, the wetland area ranks second in the country.

This is the "species gene bank" of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau

Glacial rivers converge to form the source of the Lhasa River

It nurtured countless villages along the way and became the cradle of Tibetan civilization.

Medika Wetlands

The Maidika wetland is located in the north of Jiali County, Tibet. "Madika" means "a place like horseshoe prints" in Tibetan. The wetland is like small lakes trampled by horse hooves, scattered in the wetland, with rivers interspersed between them. It is a migration corridor and breeding ground for many rare birds.

The wetland has an average altitude of 4,900 meters. It originates from the sacred mountain of Tibet - Nyainqentanglha Mountains. The glacial river flows through the mountain streams and converges to form the source of the Lhasa River.

If possible, visit the simple Tibetans on the grassland and the woman who "married" the red deer, experience the local people's life up close, and feel the primitive charm.

northwest

In the heart of Gannan, green grass is like a sea and pastures stretch out endlessly.

The river winds like a jade belt, and cattle and sheep gallop across the grassland.

This is a beautiful picture of grassland pastoral

Awancang Wetland

Located in Maqu County, Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Gansu Province, the Awancang Wetland is a little-known wetland where the Gongqu, Sai'erqu, and Daojiqu rivers converge with the Yellow River. Containing abundant water resources, the area is home to cattle and sheep that roam freely, and from the air, it resembles sesame seeds scattered from the sky.

Climb up to the observation deck and overlook the basin-shaped grassland area. The winding water network covers the entire basin. Due to the poor water flow, the river has many diversions here, making this water network crisscross and there is a lot of siltation, making the entire wetland appear vast and boundless. It makes people sigh that there are grassland wetlands in the hinterland of Gannan, flowing movingly and gently.

Sichuan

This is an oasis on the northwestern Sichuan plateau

More than 30% of the Yellow River's water comes from this wetland.

It is like a piece of gorgeous emerald inlaid here.

Zoige Wetland

Ruoergai, a plateau meadow wetland located in the northern part of Aba Prefecture, Sichuan Province, has an average altitude of more than 3,000 meters and covers a vast area. However, the best reflection of the wetland landscape is a naturally beautiful lake on the Ruoergai grassland.

Summer is the golden season for grassland wetlands. The sky is high and the air is fresh. The entire wetland is full of mauve wild flowers. Although the colors are not gorgeous, they are indeed rare and fresh.

Walking on the wooden plank road of Huahu Lake, you can feel the natural environment provided by the wetland water bodies on both sides. Black-necked cranes flutter in the wetland grassland, and the wild flowers blooming make it more vibrant.

Conclusion

my country is the country with the most complete wetland types, the largest number and the largest area in Asia. Here you can see meadows and swamps, lakes and rivers, depressions and floodplains. Here you can find the most pristine natural scenery.

The green is like the sea, the pastures are endless, and a casual shot in the wetland shows the endless green meadow and the blue sky connected into a line in the distance. The waterways are intricate. I hope every tourist can walk in the wetlands with gratitude and awe of nature. They are a pure land for mankind. Taking away a few photos will be the most beautiful memories.
