Beautiful scenery of Lushan Mountain

If you haven't visited San Diequan, you are not considered a Lushan visitor.

If you haven't visited San Diequan, you haven't really been to Lushan. A must-do when visiting Lushan is the stunning San Diequan. To get there, you'll need to take the scenic area's cable car. There are two cable cars, the Shixian and Li Bai, named after the poet Li Bai. The rides have a unique charm, as if you're touring Lushan along with the poet Li Bai's poems.

The entire journey takes about 6 minutes. The route is smooth and the speed is not fast. Both sides of the track are surrounded by the beautiful mountain spring scenery of Lushan Mountain. The cable car has a wide view all around, and you can see the scenery outside in any direction.

Compared with those high-altitude cable cars, the Sandiequan Cable Car is safer and more beautiful, like a white elf shuttling through the picturesque scenery of Lushan Mountain.

After getting off the cable car, there are more than a thousand stone steps leading down, and the final destination is the long-awaited San Diequan.

Lushan is surrounded by fog most of the time. When you enter Sandiequan, you will be asked for an entrance ticket card. The card fee is two yuan, and you can return the card and refund the money when you return.

Walking up so many steps is a test for most people. It is not easy to go down, and it is even harder to go up. Therefore, a chair lift service is provided on the road, with different prices for going up and down. There are more than a thousand steps divided into several rest stops, and the charges are divided into sections. If you feel that you really cannot complete the rest of the journey, you can pay them to help you, but it is more meaningful to finish it by yourself.

Sandiequan is also known as the Three-Tier Spring and Water Curtain Spring. The ancients called it "Kuanglu Waterfall, the third is the best", and it is known as the first wonder of Lushan Mountain. It is formed by the confluence of streams from Dayue Mountain and Wulao Peak, flowing out from Dayue Mountain, passing through the back of Wulao Peak, and pouring into the Dapanshi from the hanging mouth on the north cliff, then cascading to the second-level Dapanshi, and then spraying to the third-level Dapanshi, forming three folds, hence the name.

The waterfall has the momentum of a galloping horse and the sound of a loud bell. The total drop is 155 meters. The waterfall is divided into three tiers, each with its own unique charm. The ancients described it as: the upper tier is like floating clouds, the middle tier is like broken stones and ice, and the lower tier is like a jade dragon walking in a pool.

Whether you can see the three-fold waterfall depends on your luck. If you are unlucky, you can only see the bottom layer. The waterfall falls straight down, and the sound of the spring water pouring down is extremely shocking. The momentum of the water falling from the sky is so impressive that it makes people sigh in admiration.

Poetic and Splendid Valley|Qifeng Fairy Cave

Lushan Mountain is divided into two main routes: Sandiequan (Three Scrolls Spring) on the east route and Jinxiu Valley (Splendid Valley) on the west route. Entering Jinxiu Valley from the scenic entrance, the first sight you see is Ruqin Lake, its smooth, mirror-like surface surrounded by misty, looming peaks. A plank road circumnavigates Ruqin Lake, offering a unique view from every angle.

There is an elegant little pavilion in the center of the lake. A nine-curve bridge connects it to the Maoshan and dense forest banks. The clear lake water reflects the graceful scenery. From a distance, it looks like a natural ink painting.

The entrance to the Flower Path is located on the shore of Ruqin Lake. As April's blossoms fade, the peach blossoms at the mountain temple begin to bloom. "Everlasting regret, I cannot find Spring, for I never knew I had found my way here." The poem "Peach Blossoms at Dalin Temple" was composed by the great Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi, who was inspired by the sight of the peach blossoms in full bloom while visiting the area in late spring. The words "Flower Path" on the pavilion are said to be written by Bai Juyi himself. The pavilion was built in 1931 by Li Zhuoweng, a scholar living in the mountains, who raised funds to preserve the ancient site.

Immortal Cave

Located at the western foot of Tianchi Mountain in Lushan, this cavern is a sandstone cliff. Due to the continuous erosion of nature and the long-term erosion of the mountains and rivers, the natural cave was gradually formed. Its shape resembles a Buddha's hand, hence the name Buddha's Hand Rock. Here, the cliffs offer shelter and the clear springs offer a soothing refreshment. Looking out over the mountains, the vast white clouds and the majestic river create a feeling of being detached from the world.

This place is not only the most popular scenic spot among tourists, but also a Taoist blessed land. According to legend, the famous Tang Dynasty Taoist Lu Dongbin once practiced in this cave until he became an immortal. In order to commemorate Lu Dongbin, later generations renamed the Buddha's Hand Rock as the Immortal Cave.

After passing the Fairy Cave and continuing forward, you will see winding stone steps surrounding the mountain and approaching the canyon. From the viewing platform, you can see the beautiful scenery of the vast clouds.

There is a protruding rock on the distant mountain peak, which looks like Zhu Bajie's head, so the locals call it Zhutou Peak. From here, the mountain peak is steep and towering, looming in the clouds and mist, like a fairy palace in the sky.

The hike to Zhutou Peak takes just over ten minutes, and the view from this side is a completely different one. A famous poem goes: "In the dusk, I see the majestic pines, calm and composed as they fly through the chaotic clouds." A fairy cave is naturally formed, and the infinite scenery lies on the perilous peak. Standing atop this perilous peak, gazing out at the picturesque scenery of Lushan, the joy of travel is beyond words.

Lushan Museum|Beautiful Lulin Bridge

Lushan Museum is located in the East Valley of Guling, Lushan District, Jiujiang City, Jiangxi Province, on the shore of Lulin Lake and at the foot of Jiuqi Peak. It is also called Lulin No. 1 Villa.

Looking here from Lulin Bridge or the south bank of Lulin Lake, the dense forest as tall as a tower and the vague outlines of the villas are reflected in the clear and calm lake water, forming an indescribable oil painting with extremely moving colors.

This was originally the former residence of a celebrity. Several exhibition halls retain the original home bedrooms and meeting rooms, and there are many pictures and text introductions on the walls.

The collections in Lushan Museum are still very attractive. Whether it is history and culture or celebrity stories, they are worth visiting and learning.

The last part is the Lushan Geopark Museum. In addition to pictures introducing Xiangxi, there are also various representative physical exhibitions. In short, if you like the history and culture of Lushan and want to have a deeper understanding of Lushan, you must not miss the Lushan Museum.

Stone Carving Museum|Explore Qingshan Heritage

The Lushan Stone Carving Museum is not far from the Lushan Museum. It is a villa building and no tickets are required. If you want to know more about Lushan culture, you can stop by here to check in.

The reason why Lushan is known as the "Holy Mountain of Humanity" is that the historical culture behind it is integrated into the natural beauty of outstanding value in a unique way. The whole tour of the old house takes about 40 minutes. There is a planned route that passes through the villas and is guided by signposts.

Each house has its own story, and the furnishings inside restore the previous living scenes. Walking inside is like going back in time, and the mind can't help but imagine the life scenes here a hundred years ago.

Many villas were inhabited by celebrities of the time, who all came here because of Lushan’s comfortable living environment and poetic natural scenery.

These old houses have gone through vicissitudes of life, and the memories and stories left behind seem to have happened yesterday. Seeing the natural scenery is a journey, and recalling the history of these times is also a journey.
