Hiking in the Jinuo Mountain Rainforest in Banna, these niche gameplay settings are legendary!

Preface

If the city is a single-player life, this is an immersive open world!

There are no NPCs, no quest guides, only the disappearing reality.

The best part about this route is that it uses that 20% of unpredictability to fight the modern disease of over-planning: it could be a red-bellied squirrel that suddenly appears, or a longhorn beetle larvae hidden in rotten wood that the guide digs out.

This is not a scenic spot, but the "Mother Forest" that has been guarded for thousands of years by China's 56th ethnic group - the Jinuo people.

This route is the Xishuangbanna Jinuo Mountain Rainforest Hiking.

I dare to assert that Jinuo Mountain can kill all the hiking routes in China with these three settings:

Setting 1: When Shen Shixi's novel shines into reality

When I first opened Shen Shixi's animal novel, I never expected to encounter the scenes in the book in real life:

One-meter-high termite nests can be found everywhere at the base of the trees. (It is said that the Jino people regard their uncles as the most important. If an only child in the village does not have a suitable uncle, they will choose a termite nest in the mountains to be their uncle.)

Gently touch the lines of the strangler fig tree that hides a century-old ecology; the best thing is the special dinner, chicken cooked with fragrant winter melon, stir-fried banana flowers, spring eggplant... The ingredients and cooking methods are very different from what we are used to.

Setting 2: The last heir of the hunting ground of the 56th ethnic group

Our guide, Papa Chong (known as "Qimula" in the Jino community), is a member of the 1990s generation, the last generation of Jino people to have wielded a hunting rifle. The Jino people, with a population of only 26,000, share similar rainforest guardians like him, including King Kong, water spiders, and dinosaurs.

We delve into the rainforest kingdom described by Shen Shixi, and gather around their campfires to listen to the stories of "the last shot" from hunters born in the 1990s. The hunting rifles may have been surrendered, but the survival wisdom etched into their DNA is more precious than any equipment.

Setting 3: Immersive Rainforest Survival Game

Different from ordinary hiking where you just walk and see the scenery, there are unexpected Easter eggs buried in every kilometer:

Water: When the banana tree trunk is cut, clear water gushes out like a tap.

Weapon: Make "darts" out of thatch and see who can shoot the farthest

Camouflage: Use natural stones from the rainforest to grind pigments and paint yourself a natural camouflage makeup. It is recommended to choose red, which will make you look brighter in photos.

Foraging: Find corn-flavored Fujian worms hidden in rice dumplings! Guess why they taste like corn?

Tree Climbing: When climbing a thousand-year-old strangler fig, the bark lines act as a natural anti-slip barrier. This ancient tree has its own miniature ecosystem, and while hanging on its aerial roots 20 meters high, you might even come face to face with a woodpecker at work.

Direction identification: Epiphytic ferns always grow southeast

Why is this the ceiling of domestic hiking fun?

Biodensity Volume King

The Xishuangbanna rainforest is the only oasis at 21° north latitude, on the northern edge of the world's tropics, with 340 plant species per hectare.

We will go upstream, climb hills, pass by banana fields, rice fields, and virgin forests, and shuttle between the huge trees that block out the sun. We will see typical characteristics of the rainforest such as buttress roots, stranglers, and flowers on old stems everywhere, and get to know various brightly colored insects.

Cultural immersion experience

Use traditional tea making techniques to hand-press Pu'er tea cakes.

Learn three Jino phrases and travel through the rainforest - "Shao Mai" = delicious, "No No" = thank you, "Ai Ji" = Wow!

Experience dimensionality reduction attack

A nighttime tour of the 5A-level botanical garden of the Chinese Academy of Sciences is like a real-life version of "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them." The guides are all highly educated comedians, and you'll learn about fireflies that emit specific flash patterns when courting, and stick insects that feign death when threatened.

The locals' private fruit kingdom. Cycling along National Highway 219 from Menglun to the Dai Garden, who can resist the happiness of picking fruits and eating them at the same time?

The owner has planted more than 80 kinds of tropical fruits here. In addition to the everyday mangoes, pineapples, and bananas, there are also rare fruits such as miracle fruit, sugar apple, goat's milk fruit, and sapodilla.

There are also egg apples that taste like egg yolk, golden butter apples that everyone says are delicious, jackfruits that you hang on the tree and eat with a knife, and avocados dipped in mustard soy sauce that taste exactly like salmon!

The people of Banna who have been deeply involved in the fruit industry for many years will let you know that there is no bad fruit, it’s just that we haven’t found the right way to open it!

During the Songkran Festival, please remember these survival rules.

① Purchase a waterproof case for your mobile phone online in advance.

② Wear a dark T-shirt! When the white T-shirt gets wet, it will turn into a transparent fashion show.

③The first bucket of water should be poured thoroughly onto the collar to prevent heatstroke.

When the elephant-foot drum sounds, you will instantly understand why the Dai people say: "A life that is not soaked is incomplete."

Conclusion

On the way back, the team members asked:

“Will the secrets of these rainforests be lost?”

The herpetology guide shook the scattered vines

"When we learn to use banana leaves to collect water, ants to judge the weather, and ferns to read directions, the rainforest will live forever."

So stop asking "What's the point of hiking?"

When you step on the soft humus soil, hear the sound of resin dripping, and touch the rough bark of the strangler fig, you suddenly understand:

The so-called ceiling is nothing more than the most authentic nostalgia of human beings for the wilderness.

If you also believe that the best travel is

"Learn to survive from the forest and learn to grow from the ancient times"

Our GPS coordinates are always waiting for you at 21° North Latitude

There are no internet celebrity check-in spots here

Some are 20% unexpected variables

It may be the emergent double-horned hornbill
