Day 1 All over the country → or → Fuzhou ★ Gathering day
All day
1. Today is the gathering day. Tourists from all over the country will go to Fuzhou to check in. Upon arrival in Fuzhou, please check in at the designated hotel (near Fuzhou Station) with "China-Travel Note + Name"
2. Afterwards, it is free time: Fuzhou is one of the five trading ports opened in modern China. It is no exaggeration to say that half of China's modern history is hidden in Fuzhou. First of all, we recommend visiting [Sanfang Qixiang], where the Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings are well preserved and the ancient charm is preserved. The alleys with white walls and black tiles are hidden with the local snacks. [Yantai Mountain] has many beautiful houses in the embassy area, and the cathedral and ginkgo trees are particularly picturesque.
Recommended attractions: Three Lanes and Seven Alleys, Shangxiahang, and Yantaishan Historic District
Local specialties: Yonghe fish balls, Dingbianhu, water chestnut cake, Podian pig's trotter
Day 2 Fuzhou → Yongtai Genting → Yongtai Hotel
All day
1. After breakfast, we drove to Yunding Scenic Area, which is known as the "Shangri-La of Fujian" (about 1.5 hours' drive). As we drove up the mountain, the green mountains on both sides reflected the blue sky, which is a beautiful scenery in itself.
2. In the morning, we will go to Yunding Tianchi. At the top of Qingyun Mountain at an altitude of 1,100 meters, a volcanic eruption billions of years ago created a pool of clear water that flows straight into the center of the earth. The entire mountain top is covered with natural green grass, which is a very rare sight in Fujian.
3. Afterwards, everyone can have lunch freely and look for local mountain food (you can choose some local farmers to taste original ecological and pollution-free ingredients).
4. After lunch, we will walk to the canyon section of the 5.5-kilometer plank road, the [Haixi Waterfall Grand Canyon], where the [Seven-Colored Waterfall Valley] is composed of seven waterfalls of different sizes and shapes hidden in the deep canyon of Yunding. We will go upstream (the entire journey follows the wooden plank road along the canyon wall, about 1.8 kilometers), and enjoy the gurgling stream, lush trees, singing birds and fragrant flowers along the way; stroll through the [Red River Valley] and [Emerald Valley] at the bottom of the valley (the entire journey is flat on the road for about 3.5 kilometers), and appreciate the dangerous, strange, beautiful and secluded original scenery carved out by glaciers billions of years ago; finally, take the [Colorful Zipline] cable car with a total length of 1,100 meters and a vertical height difference of 360 meters to see the Yunding mountain scenery and return to the top of the gorge.
P.S.: The Grand Canyon hike takes about an hour down to the valley floor. After a break, it's another hour on the flat river path, and finally a 20-minute cable car ride back up the mountain. This outdoor activity is considered entry-level for beginners. The canyon's geological formation was formed by glaciers millions of years ago (you can't actually see the glaciers). The forest cover creates a local microclimate, making the valley floor warm in winter and cool in summer. The negative oxygen ions are perfect for "lung cleansing."
5. In the evening, we checked into our hotel and enjoyed a "soul redemption" in the natural oxygen bar. Afterwards, we were free to forage for food (eating rabbit) and move around freely.
Day 3 Yongtai → Pingtan → Changjiangao → Ring Road → Houyan Island → County Hotel
·morning
1. After breakfast, drive to Pingtan Island, the fifth largest island in China and the largest island in Fujian Province (about 2.5 hours). On the way, you will pass the magnificent Pingtan Highway-Railway Bridge. The entire 11-kilometer cross-sea section
2. Our first stop is the dreamy [Changjiangao Windmill Field]. Clusters of white windmills are scattered around the wide beach, towering over it, their slender blades dancing in the air. After getting off the bus, we'll have about 30 minutes of fun, running freely on the vast beach, or catching cute little crabs and hermit crabs on the rocky beach.
3. Then head to [Shanlan Island Ring Road], get off the bus and walk along the coast. From the commanding heights of [Beilanling], you can see the isolated island on the opposite bank and enjoy the magnificent landscape of the coastal terraces.
4. Then proceed to Pingtan County and have lunch at your own leisure;
Local specialties: Fortune Telling (salty food), Eight Treasures Fried Cake, Oyster Cake, and Forever
During the National Day holiday, our itinerary today is [Beibu Gulf Landao], starting with a sea windmill tour:
Windmill Forest Road: Tall casuarina trees on both sides block out the sun, and sunlight filters through the gaps between the leaves. The giant windmills piercing through the trees create a fantastical scene.
[Sea Glass Plank Road]: Then drive slowly along the coastal road and take a selfie with the offshore windmills as the background;
[Landao Windmill Kingdom]: Multiple viewing platforms offer a distant view of the Changjiangao windmill fields and a 360-degree panoramic view of the northern seascape of Pingtan.
·afternoon
5. In the afternoon, we will depart for Houyan Island (approximately 1 hour), where we will check out the popular small road, make a wish at the Star Tower, the same model as the one at Qixingtan in Hualien, and take a photo at the postmarked frame at 68 nautical miles from Taiwan.
6. Next, we'll visit [Xianshan Island] (approximately 40 minutes), where you'll find pure blue waters, yellow sea erosion landforms, Zen-like concentric rocks, and the popular lighthouse on TikTok.
