Day 1 Shanghai → Damaowu → Shanghai
All day
07:00-07:15 Gather at the designated location of China-TravelNote and sign in.
Depart at 07:15 (no lateness), the tour leader will lead everyone to interact and introduce the itinerary on the bus, and there will be laughter and joy all the way!
At around 11:00, we arrived at Damaowu, the starting point of the hike. Everyone packed up and got off the bus. The team leader took everyone to warm up first, and then we set off along the trail in a team.
We began our slow ascent, passing through the Wanzhang Mountain Tunnel. We encountered Wanzhang Mountain, where we could rest and have a meal. We then continued our journey towards Huangni Lane, passing tea plantations, bamboo forests, and dirt roads. The trees lined the road, casting dappled shadows across the ground. Upon reaching Jixi Lane, we saw a Fuyang stone tablet. The descent was also very steep, with exposed rocks. We needed to hold onto the rocks as we descended each hilltop. Halfway up the mountain, we started our dirt road, which was incredibly smooth.
About halfway through the journey we will pass by a farm where we can simply replenish our supplies and then continue on our journey!
Around 2:30 PM, we'll continue our ascent, enjoying the joy of using both our hands and feet. We'll reach the summit of Wuchao Mountain, where we can take photos from the panoramic view of Wuchao Pavilion. From the summit, we'll descend and reach the reservoir dam. Before us, we'll be greeted by the rippling blue waters of the lake, with lush green mountains reflected in the water. The scenery is picturesque. [Closing: After the refueling point at 2:30 PM, we'll continue our ascent to the road. We can then follow the village road back to the starting point.]
The last three steps were along the stream, through the bamboo forest, past the tea plantation, and up the stairs. The mountain flowers were in full bloom, and walking on the hiking trail suddenly felt like a paradise. The third step was also along the dirt road all the way to the village. As we got to the village, we were getting closer and closer to our destination.
We finished our hike around 5:30 PM and arrived at Damaowu. The bus had been waiting for us for a while, so we boarded it and headed back to Shanghai.
Around 21:00 we returned to our departure point in Shanghai. We all said goodbye with tears in our eyes and will meet again next time.
There will be slight adjustments to the closing points in autumn and winter, and the specific details will be announced by the tour leader on the day!
It gets dark earlier in autumn and winter, so it's recommended to bring a headlamp! Also, bring a set of clean clothes to change into after your hike to avoid getting cold in wet clothes!
