All day

Notice:

Shennongjia is a mountainous area with changeable weather. Even if the weather forecast shows sunny days, please bring rain gear and a thick coat.

The natural scenery is greatly affected by the weather, so please treat it with a normal mind.

Today is the all-day gathering day for the event. Tourists from all over the world will choose their own transportation to arrive at the designated hotel in Yichang for check-in and room arrangement. Afterwards, they will have free time at their own leisure.

Recommended Itinerary |

If you arrive early, you can explore Yichang city on your own. You can visit Riverside Park or the Yiling Yangtze River Bridge to capture the Yangtze River scenery. Zhenjiang Pavilion, across the river, is a great spot for capturing the city's nightscape.

Yichang's night market stalls are also very famous, including [Taozhu Road Night Market], [Beimen Night Market], etc. You can enjoy the food to your heart's content, but please pay attention to hygiene.

Day 2 Yichang → Shennongtan → Tianyan Scenic Area → Muyu Town

·morning

Looking up at the stone statue of Shennong |

After breakfast, we'll head to Shennongtan. Shennongjia gets its name from the story of Shennong, one of the ancestor of the Chinese people, who built a wooden ladder here to sample herbs and save the people. Here, you'll find a statue of Shennong, depicting him with an ox-headed figure and a thousand-year-old cedar king. Standing amidst lush green mountains, Shennong's body formed by the earth, his eyes slightly closed, seemingly contemplating the mysteries of the universe. In autumn, Shennongtan, set against the backdrop of rustling fallen leaves, possesses a uniquely ancient charm.

·afternoon

Step onto the Autumn Rainbow Bridge |

After a short break, we headed to Tianyan Scenic Area, which is named after the Yanziya Pass. It is about 2,200 meters above sea level, and National Highway 209 passes through the cliffs. The cliffs are covered with lush green pines and firs, and red birch trees, and the scenic area offers endless mountain views. There is a connecting point between Yanjing and Yunzhan, called Huixian Bridge, also known as the "Rainbow Bridge." This is a great place to watch the sea of clouds and sunset in Tianyan!

The lesser-known Shennongjia scenic area is flanked by three waterfalls, four villages, five pools, six caves, seven ridges, eight rocks, nine stones, and eighteen peaks. The forests here are a riot of color, with hued maples, tulip trees, sycamores, crabapples, walnuts, and chestnuts mingling with the evergreen vegetation. Like an oil painter accidentally knocking over a paint can, the colors flow along the mountain ridges, layer upon layer of fiery red, dazzling golden yellow, lush emerald green, and vibrant azure blue... a breathtaking sight.

In the evening we drove to Muyu Town to check in.

Driving distance: about 300 kilometers, about 5 hours

Day 3 Muyu Town → Shennongding → Jinhouling → Shennong Valley → Watchtower → Banbi Rock → Pingqian Ancient Town

All day

Shennongding first sees the primitive colors |

After breakfast, we will depart from Muyu and take a bus to Shennongding Scenic Area, where we will continue our journey.

Along the way, we'll experience the pristine beauty of vast alpine meadows, crimson leaves, seas of clouds, forests, stone groves, and ancient trees, all unrestrainedly displaying a serene wonderland. The arrival of autumn paints this beautiful forested area with a vibrant hue, marking the peak of Shennongding's annual beauty. Depending on the day's conditions, we'll explore the karst canyon landscape of Shennong Valley, the alpine meadows of Shennongding, the bamboo forests and grotesquely arranged rock formations of Banbi Rock, and Taiziya.

After the tour, we rushed to Pingqian Ancient Town to check in and prepare to welcome the beautiful scenery of Dajiu Lake tomorrow morning.

Note: You need to transfer to the scenic bus today and need to be separated from your suitcase for a day. It is recommended to bring a backpack.

Driving distance: about 100 kilometers, about 2 hours

Note: The sightseeing spots of Shennongding may be adjusted according to the specific conditions of the scenic area.

Day 4: Tianpingqian Ancient Town → Dajiu Lake → Shennong Creek → Wuxiakou

·morning

Enjoy the dreamy morning mist at Dajiu Lake

Around 6:30 AM, we'll head to Dajiu Lake to witness the morning mist. We'll spend half a day enjoying a leisurely swim in the lake. Located over 1,730 meters above sea level, Dajiu Lake is one of my country's few typical alpine wetland areas, known as the Hulunbuir of Hubei. The wetland boasts abundant alpine meadows and wetland ferns, as well as rare animals such as storks, cranes, and sika deer. A wonderful start to the day!

We have the whole morning to freely enjoy the scenery of Dajiu Lake. You can choose to stroll along the lakeside and admire the rare wild flowers; breathe the fresh air, feel the green grass, the crisscrossing fields, and the crisscrossing ditches; enjoy the beautiful scenery of cattle and sheep in the wind blowing the grass; and explore the mystery of the sinkhole;

You can also take a small train to travel through the Dajiu Lake Scenic Area and experience their different styles, some are thriving and surrounded by greenery, while others are quiet and secluded...

We can also go to the deer park deep in Dajiu Lake to look for sika deer. We can quietly approach the woods and grasslands. Where will the sika deer be?

·afternoon

Shennongxi Tracker Cultural Corridor

In the afternoon, we came to the Shennong Creek Scenic Area, a typical canyon stream with winding waterways. There are more than 60 dangerous rapids, long rapids, curved rapids and shallow rapids in the turbulent stream.

We will skip the long boat ride and go directly to the pea boat to experience the Shennong River cruise which is similar to a small rafting, and watch the glorious years of the tracker cultural corridor.

In due time, we will go to Wuxiakou to see the afterglow and sunset reflected on both sides of the Three Gorges.

Wuxiakou

It guards the entrance to the Wu Gorge, one of the Three Gorges of the Yangtze River. Known for its rugged beauty, it offers stunning views of the Yangtze River and a chance to experience a connection between the mountains and the sea.

We walked across the glass skybridge and gazed out over Wu Gorge from the 360-degree glass observation deck. This is the summit of Wu Gorge, at an altitude of 1,100 meters. It marks the first 90-degree bend in the Yangtze River, known as the "First Turn of the Yangtze River." It's also the setting for the background pattern on the 5-yuan note from the fourth set of RMB. From the observation deck, we marveled at the majestic landscape and vastness, savoring the tranquility. (We'll stay at the scenic area's visitor center; if we arrive late that day, we can return the next morning to see the morning light at the entrance to Wu Gorge.)

Driving distance: about 200km, about 4 hours

Notes: 1. In case of bad weather, such as rain, the morning mist at Dajiu Lake may not be visible.
2. To avoid missing the best viewing time, please bring breakfast, snacks, and dry food.
3. Wuxiakou Hotel is located in the Visitor Center, so you can watch the sunset or the sunrise the next morning.

Q: Will I suffer from altitude sickness at Shennongjia, which is 3,000 meters above sea level?

A: Shennongjia is the ridge of central China, with a forest coverage rate of nearly 99%, so you won't suffer from altitude sickness.

Q: What clothes should I bring?

A: Shennongjia is at a high altitude and the temperature in the mountains is relatively low, so you need to bring winter clothes in October.
