My trip to Aachen was a journey into history and culture. The city is best known for its stunning cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Charlemagne was buried. Standing inside, I was amazed by the unique octagonal chapel, golden mosaics, and the sense of centuries of European history surrounding me.
Wandering through the old town, I discovered charming squares, narrow streets, and fountains filled with warm thermal water — a reminder of Aachen’s long spa tradition. I also visited the historic town hall, once the site of royal coronations, and enjoyed the cozy atmosphere of local cafés.
Aachen offered me a mix of imperial history, medieval charm, and a relaxed modern vibe — a city where the past is still very much alive.
