A must-visit trip to Abu Simbel Temple in Egypt

Abu Simbel is one of Egypt's most spectacular ancient monuments, with the Temple of Ramses II being the most famous. We departed early this morning from Aswan and drove for over three hours, through desolate desert scenery. The weather was incredibly hot, and the scorching sun made it almost impossible to open our eyes. But the moment we finally reached the temple, all the hard work was completely worth it.
Four 20-meter-tall statues of Ramses II stand majestically at the temple's entrance, a breathtaking sight, as if they still guard the southern end of the Nile thousands of years later. The temple's interior is intricately carved, recording the pharaoh's military exploits and his worship of the gods, imbued with a rich historical atmosphere. Most striking is the integration of the temple's architectural design with sunlight. Twice a year, sunlight directly strikes the statues in the inner sanctuary, showcasing the ancient Egyptians' astonishing astronomical and architectural wisdom.
Despite the scorching heat and the long journey, witnessing such a magnificent ancient civilization in person is an unforgettable experience. Abu Simbel is absolutely a must-see attraction on any trip to Egypt.
