The Muztagh Glacier Park is located at the border of Tashkurgan Tajik Autonomous County and Akto County in the Kashgar region of Xinjiang, right under the foot of Muztagh Peak, which stands at 7,546 meters and is known as the "Father of Ice Mountains," hence the name "Father of Glaciers."
This park is a national-level glacier park with an average altitude of about 5,000 meters, approximately 220 kilometers from Kashgar city. It takes about 4 hours to drive there from Kashgar.
The park features magnificent glacier landscapes, including the famous Muztagh Peak No. 4 Glacier. Visitors can witness the grandeur of the glacier, the elegance of the ice snakes, the varied forms of ice towers and ice caves, as well as the gentle yet cold beauty of the four-layered ice lake known as "Green Bow Lake." Additionally, the park offers views of strange mountains and rocks, and rare wild animals and plants such as marmots and snow grouse.
Regarding visiting information, the park is open daily from 12:00 to 18:00, with entry prohibited after 17:30. The ticket price is 43 yuan, and an additional 50 yuan is required for the shuttle bus ticket, which transports visitors from the park entrance to the mid-mountain platform. The distance from the parking lot to the summit viewing platform is about 1 kilometer, all uphill. Visitors can choose to walk (about 3 hours in total) or ride a horse (100 yuan per person one way, 200 yuan per person round trip).
