Winter Travel - Visit Turkey's Seaside Resorts

Turkey is another country that is a paradise for those who love the sea and beaches.
Many Turkish people and tourists choose to visit the resort towns on the southwestern or southern Aegean coast.

But what will the atmosphere be like if we visit in winter? Is it still worth visiting? Let's find out.

The resort towns we visited are not far from Izmir, which is considered the largest city in that area. We visited 3 cities in total:

Foça:
- About an hour north of Izmir.
- It is a seaside town that is not very famous for its beaches, but it is full of seafood restaurants, cafes, and shops that are still bustling in winter.
- The prices of food and drinks are quite expensive since it is considered a tourist town.
- Most restaurants and cafes are near the port, and there are quite a few people walking around.

Alaçatı:
- It is the only resort town that is not directly on the sea.
- About an hour east of Izmir, going west.
- During the day, there are some restaurants, cafes, bars, and shops open. But it is more lively in the summer and in the evening.
- The architecture of the city's buildings is built with brick and stone, similar to the Greco-Roman style.

Çeşme
- It is considered a very important port city because there are ferries that can reach the islands of Greece.
- It is located east of Izmir, about an hour and a half west and about 15 minutes from Alaçatı.
- It is a very lively city with many restaurants, cafes, shops, tour companies and more.
- The price of food here is not very expensive.
- In the evening, you can go for a walk on the seaside promenade to watch the sunset and if the weather is good, you can see the Greek islands that are only an hour away.
