Special Orthodox Church

The Ascension Cathedral (Voznesensk Cathedral) is located in Almaty, the capital of Kazakhstan. Orthodoxy is the largest Christian religion in Kazakhstan, and the Ascension Cathedral is the largest Orthodox church in Almaty. It's also the second-largest wooden church in the world, constructed without nails. Although built just over a century ago and lacking a traditional, solemn atmosphere, the moment you slowly enter through the main entrance, you sense a special sacredness and purity. From the skylight in the central upper ceiling of the church, two rays of light, like the dawn's dawn, stream into the main hall. Seeing the reverent worshippers around me, I unconsciously joined them in making the Sign of the Cross as a sign of respect for Orthodoxy.
