Kumamoto Amakusa Seafood Storehouse

Amakusa is blessed with abundant seafood. The lunch barbecue set meal at the "Seafood Storehouse" near the pier includes saury, turbans, prawns, scallops, etc., and also includes rice balls and seafood soup, which is quite rich. The locals firmly believe in the principle of eating in season and believe that there is a time to eat seafood. In autumn and winter, it is more suitable to eat abalone and lobster. All seafood is grilled over open flames and is done by a dedicated person. I saw the aunts skillfully turning the seafood over and over in the oven with a diligent attitude. In order to maintain the original freshness of the seafood, they simply sprinkled sea salt, wine and lemon juice for seasoning, and controlled the heat just right.
