📍 Wat Ming Muang is located in Chiang Rai Municipality, located at the intersection of Banphapra Road and Trairat Road, Nai Wiang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chiang Rai Province.
📒 Wat Ming Muang is a Shan temple. In the past, the community called it Wat Ngio or Wat Chang Moob (Elephant Crouching).
📸 Highlights within the temple include:
.. The golden-wood viharn, built of teakwood in a blend of Shan and Lanna styles, features a ceiling in the Traibhumi and Pali styles, featuring a swan-shaped stucco ceiling.
.. Luang Pho Phra Sri Ming Muang, the principal Buddha image of the temple. This stucco Buddha image is gilded and lacquered throughout, in the Chiang Saen Singh 1 style, over 400 years old.
.. Phra That Ming Muang, adorned with a golden umbrella, in the style of Burmese art. This pagoda houses the relics of the Lord Buddha.
.. The sacred ancient well, historically used by the community for drinking water.
