A secret hideaway in Amsterdam! A day of art and creativity at NDSM Fuse 🎨

Amsterdam's secret hideaway! A day of art and creativity at NDSM Fuse 🎨

Approximately 15 minutes by free ferry from Central Station. Approaching from the water, an industrial, graffiti-filled space immediately catches your eye. This is the NDSM area in Amsterdam North.

In the heart of it all is NDSM Fuse, a gallery and art platform where artists and creators gather.

Repurposed from a vast warehouse that was once a shipyard, the interior is filled with high ceilings, spaciousness, and art. In addition to the permanent exhibition, we enjoyed seasonal exhibitions, installations, and video works. Local artists are always present, and if you speak to them, you can hear the behind-the-scenes stories!

📌 [Highlights of the Experience]
• Sustainable art made from recycled and reclaimed materials
• Live productions by international artists
• A gallery experience that's not just about seeing, but also about feeling and interacting
• The surrounding area is also full of container cafes and second-hand clothing shops, making it a fun place to stroll around!

Our stay coincided with a local event, featuring live music and street food outdoors in a warehouse. We lost track of time in this "creative liberation zone," distinct from the city center.

🎨 NDSM Fuse is not just Amsterdam as a tourist destination, but a place to experience the "living culture of the city." Highly recommended for art, architecture, and subculture lovers.

🧳 The best cafe and market I came across in NDSM's container district ☕

While on an art walk through the containers and warehouses in the NDSM area, I took a break on the terrace at Pllek. After relaxing at a beach cafe, I was soothed by local cakes and live acoustic music at Noorderlicht Café.
