📍Location:
Located in Anshan, Liaoning Province, Qianshan Mountain is famous for its "thousand peaks competing in beauty." It's a rare 5A-level scenic area in Northeast China that combines Buddhist and Taoist culture with unique peaks and strange rocks.
🚗Transportation:
1. Driving (Recommended)
About 2 hours from Shenyang/Dalian. Navigate to "Qianshan Main Entrance." Parking: 10💰/day.
❗ Important: Parking spaces are limited after 9am on holidays. Arrive before 8:30am or use the North Gate (less crowded).
2. High-speed Rail/Bus Combination
From Anshan West Station, take a taxi to Qianshan (about 25💰, beware of illegal taxis❗), or take the "Qianshan Tourist Bus" (2💰, 40-minute ride).
👍️Must-Visit Spots:
1. Toss Coins at the "Golden Reclining Buddha"
At the naturally formed mountain Buddha silhouette, locals traditionally toss coins toward the Buddha's hand (exchange coins outside the scenic area, don't use stones❗).
2. Try Taoist Vegetarian Food
Wuliang Temple offers Arhat vegetarian meals at 20💰/portion, featuring secret recipe fermented tofu with wild vegetable buns. Reserve 1 hour in advance.
3. Collect Stamps
Free stamps available at 6 locations including Longquan Temple and Great Buddha Temple (bring your own notebook). Designs inspired by ancient Qianshan inscriptions.
🎈Itineraries: 3 Options for Different Groups
①Cultural Hiking Route (3-4 hours, family-friendly)
Route: Main Gate → Wuliang Temple → Single-Line Sky → Narrow Stone → Heaven Beyond Heaven → Longquan Temple
⭐ Highlights:
Touch Qing Dynasty stone carvings at Wuliang Temple, learn about the "Nine Palaces Eight Trigrams" layout from Taoist priests.
Squeeze through "Narrow Stone" sideways (caution if over 200 pounds), view the "Thousand Peak Chessboard" from Heaven Beyond Heaven.
600-year-old ginkgo tree at Longquan Temple turns golden in fall, perfect for photography.
②Summit Challenge Route (5-6 hours, for outdoor enthusiasts)
Route: Five Buddha Peak Cable Car Lower Station → Hike to Summit → Trail down to Great Buddha Area
Tips:
Five Buddha Peak is 554m high, steep stone steps require hiking poles.
🈶 Hidden Viewpoint: Path 30m west of upper cable car station offers exclusive 270° panorama (no railings, be careful).
Take unpaved trail down, chance to meet wild squirrels (bring nuts for interaction).
③Night Sky Route (summer only)
Free entry after 18:00 (main entrance only). Bring headlamps, hike via Wuliang Temple trail to "Little Huangshan" Star-gazing Platform. Milky Way visible (avoid full moon nights).
💗Additional Tips:
1. Ticket Advisory
80 yuan entrance fee covers basic areas. Great Buddha area requires extra 30 yuan incense fee (optional).
2. Wild Monkey Areas
Monkey groups often appear near Xianren Platform seeking food. Don't show bags (they'll grab them), wave hiking poles to deter if necessary.
3. Hidden Gem
"Wisdom Spring" well water in Wuliang Temple's back courtyard - monks allow visitors to collect water (let it settle before drinking).
