A Days in Asahikawa

Asahikawa, Hokkaido's second largest city, was founded in the late 19th century as a military post and has grown into an industrial and cultural center. The city has strong ties to the Ainu people and is famous for its crafts, agriculture, and food such as ramen and dairy products. With its cold weather and heavy snowfall, Asahikawa has a distinctive winter festival. And still maintaining a way of life that is connected to nature and snow

🇯🇵Asahiyama Zoo (⏱️10.30-15.30 / 💵¥1,000 per person, we walked-in to buy at the event)

🇯🇵Asahikawa Ramen Village (⏱️11.00-20.00)

🇯🇵Aeon Mall Asahikawa Ekimae (⏱️8.00-22.00)

🏨The hotel we stayed at was Hotel Route Inn Grand Asahikawa Ekimae (🧳Check in: 15.00 / Check out: 10.00 the next day)

🚊Traveling between cities:⚫️Lilac-Kamui train from Sapporo to Asashikawa (We used the JR Hokkaido pass)

🚘🚍Traveling within the city: Rent a car Or Bus For example, if from our accommodation or Asahikawa train station to Asahiyama zoo, you can take bus number 41 or 47. It takes about 40 minutes and costs about ¥500 (when we went, it seemed like we couldn't use IC cards, so we had to pay in cash instead).
