The Atyrau Bridge is a gift from the Atyrau region to the capital, Astana. Opened in 2018, this pedestrian bridge spans the Ishim River, measuring 314 meters long and 10.5 meters wide. It is located in the city center, near Central Park and the Nur-Astana Mosque.
The bridge's distinctive appearance resembles a giant Caspian sturgeon. Its exterior is clad in triangular aluminum panels, creating a protective layer of scales, while the interior feels like being inside a giant fish. The fish-like curves and reflected light create a magical effect, especially at sunset or at night when illuminated, when the scales create a unique pattern. The surrounding riverscape and modern buildings provide the perfect backdrop.
This tranquil and magnificent bridge is a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll and photo opportunities!
