Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki is the largest art gallery in New Zealand. The beautiful tall modern main entrance hall added in 2011 presents a completely different look. The large glass panels and the highly transparent exterior and interior spaces completely break the heavy and closed sense of isolation of the main building, suggesting that the new-age art museum can be fully integrated into the slope difference of the adjacent Albert Park. With its majestic and tall fir door pillars and high umbrella screens, the art museum also plays the role of an intermediary between the city and the park.
I really like visiting museums. I visit art galleries in every country I visit. Friends who like art must visit this attraction. The museum has a rich collection of classical art, modern art, and Maori art.
The main collection exhibitions are free to visit, which is really good. In early 2025, there will be free exhibitions of masterpieces by masters such as Picasso, Matisse and Monet donated by private collectors
