ðŸ‡ģðŸ‡ŋMt. Eden: where the Volcano Sleeps🌋

Mt. Eden, or Maungawhau in Māori, is the highest natural point in Auckland, New Zealand, standing at 196 meters (643 feet) above sea level. It's an ancient dormant volcano that last erupted over 15,000 years ago, and today it offers visitors a unique combination of natural beauty, panoramic views, and deep cultural significance.

From the top, you get 360° panoramic views of Auckland. The crater, known as Te Ipu-a-Mataaho, is about 50 meters deep and considered sacred in Māori tradition. Climbing into the crater is discouraged out of respect for its cultural importance.

📌 Visitor Tips
- Entry is 🆓
- Best times to visit: Early morning or sunset for stunning views and softer light🌄
- ðŸ“ļ Great for photography, especially panoramic shots of the city

🚗 Car is restricted to access the summit now to preserve the site’s cultural significance.

ðŸ…ŋïļ Waze “friend & whau cafe” which is next to Te Ipu Korero o Maungawhau / Maungawhau Visitor Experience Centre for parking space. It took around 5mins to reach the Mt.Eden boardwalk.
