Compared to the popular Mount Eden, this place is quieter, wider and more New Zealand.
It is not just a mountain, but also a story about land, faith and memory.

🗿 A mountain, a tree, a piece of New Zealand history
This was once one of the largest Maori fortresses Pa
There was originally a sacred tree on the top of the mountain, but it has been cut down, and now only the monument stands (Figure 11-13)
It is also an important place in the early Maori and European colonial history of New Zealand
Walking here, every step is like stepping on history

✔️ Cornwall Park is on the mountainside, with large green space + cattle and sheep grassland, super healing
✔️ You can hike or drive to the top of the mountain, and cars can drive up (but there will be restrictions on weekends when there are many people)
✔️ Take a panoramic view of the entire Auckland city + the perspective of the volcanic ruins on the top of the mountain
✔️ At dusk, the monument and the grass under the backlight silhouette are definitely a super killer picture
✔️ It is recommended to wear beige, khaki or dark green, so that the photos will have a more earthy feel

📝Transportation Tips

🚗 It takes about 20 minutes to drive from the city center. It is recommended to come on weekdays to avoid crowds
🥾 It takes about 30-40 minutes to hike up the mountain, but there are cattle and sheep to accompany you along the way
