Hidden Power Spot in Awaji Island, Hyogo, Japan

📍 Ayuya Waterfall

Recently, I visited "Ayuya Waterfall" located at the southern tip of Awaji Island. It’s about a 20-minute drive from Sumoto IC and is a serene waterfall nestled in a lush natural setting.

Standing at a height of 14.5 meters, Ayuya Waterfall is known as the largest waterfall on Awaji Island. Surrounded by greenery, the tranquil space filled with the sound of the waterfall offers a calming atmosphere. Especially in summer, fireflies flutter around, creating a magical ambiance 🌃🌙.

Access to the waterfall is well-maintained, and it takes about 10 minutes to reach it by walking along a trail from the parking lot. Along the way, you can also visit "Daizenji Oku-no-in Fudodo," which adds a historical touch to your stroll.

Near the waterfall, there is also the "Shrine of Hachidai Ryuo," a place dedicated to the water deity and revered for centuries. This spot, where nature and history blend seamlessly, provided a refreshing experience for both my mind and body 🫧🩵.
