Standing high up on Kek Lok Si’s steps, I could see rooftops of the temple cascading down the hill, framed by pagodas and lush gardens. The view feels endless, with Penang’s skyline peeking in the distance.

I’d recommend coming on a clear day to enjoy the full panorama. The climb might warm you up, but the breeze at the top is worth it. Bonus tip: bring a camera with a zoom lens—you’ll want to capture the details of the temple roofs and gardens from above.
