Baalbek Ruins
Baalbek is one of the three great ruins in the Middle East, along with Palmyra in Syria and Petra in Jordan, and is a sacred site dating back to the Phoenician period that is also registered as a World Heritage Site. It is the largest temple area in the Roman Empire, with a huge temple dedicated to Jupiter, the supreme god who created the heavens and the earth, the beautiful temple of Bacchus, the god of wine, and the three temples dedicated to Venus, the goddess of love and beauty.
The Greek Parthenon is more famous worldwide, but this temple is definitely larger in scale, and the Parthenon has been restored, so this one is definitely recommended for those who like ancient ruins!
To be honest, I was not expecting much, so I was very impressed, and there were so few people that it was lonely, so it was fun to wander around feeling like an explorer lost in the world of an RPG.
