The most ENIGMATIC waterfall in Bali 🤩

#balitrip

This unique waterfall tucked beneath Tembuku’s jungle caves is unlike the others in Bali. Tukad Cepung waterfall is renowned for its unique setting inside a hidden cavern. As the water cascades into this hidden cavern, it creates a unique and ethereal setting. The play of sunlight on the water and surrounding rocks adds a magical touch to the experience. Definitely a haven for photographers and instagrammers.

The waterfall is about a 1-hour ride from the center of Ubud by motorbike. The entrance fee as of July 2024 was 30,000IDR per pax.
To reach the waterfall from the entrance, follow a relatively easy 15-minute trek through a jungle path and cross a shallow river. There are some steps to get to the bottom towards the end.

The best time to visit is in the morning (around 10-11am) when the sunlight creates a stunning effect as it filters through the cavern; however, this is when it gets quite busy with everyone wanting that beautiful shot in the same spot. If you want to miss the crowds, you can try coming early morning. We arrived around 11am and had to spend a long time there to get some photos with no one else in them.

Wear sturdy shoes for the trek and be prepared to get your feet wet. You will not be able to get to the waterfall without immersing your feet into shallow water. Once you get to the waterfall, the waters at the base of the falls are too shallow to swim in, but you can stand under the fine mist. There are strong winds blowing through the cavern so it does get a bit cold. If you plan on getting wet, best to bring a towel and/or a change of clothes.
