Tanah Lot Temple

Tanah Lot Temple, also known as Pura Tanah Lot, is a temple situated on a rock formation that resembles an island. This formation, created by erosion, extends out from the island of Bali like a curved bridge. It is one of Bali's most famous tourist attractions and a popular spot for tourists to take photos. Tanah Lot is one of seven temples built along the coast of Bali. Located on a rock in the sea, it stands away from the Bali coastline in Indonesia. This temple is a symbol of tourism in Bali. It was constructed in the 11th century to honor the gods and demons of the sea according to ancient Balinese beliefs. The temple was established by a Hindu priest named Dang Hyang Nirartha and is considered a sacred site highly revered by the Balinese people.
