Tanah Lot Temple is located about an hour's drive from the bustling streets of Seminyak! Famous for being a temple situated in the sea, it is also one of Bali's renowned sunset spots, especially when the sunset coincides with low tide.
During low tide, the temple becomes accessible via a land path, allowing visitors to walk right up to it. (However, only Hindu worshippers are permitted to enter the temple itself.)
This time, due to our travel schedule, we couldn't visit in the evening and instead chartered a car to go there around noon. Although the area was already lively with many visitors, it wasn't so crowded that taking photos leisurely became impossible.
We happened to visit during high tide, and the sight of the temple completely surrounded by the sea was truly impressive! The Tanah Lot Temple area is quite expansive, so if you take your time exploring, it can take about an hour. It's best to plan with plenty of time to spare! Since the area gets even busier in the evening, allowing for extra time would be wise.
The surroundings of the temple are well-maintained and very clean, with plenty of souvenir shops nearby. Be sure to take your time and enjoy a leisurely visit!
