Tanah Lot Temple

Pura Tanah Lot Temple
is a temple situated on a rocky hill, resembling an island.
The formation was formed by erosion.
It resembles an arched bridge extending from Bali.

It appears to float on the sea.
In Indonesian, Pura means temple (Balinese Brahmin temple), and Tanah Lot
means rock.

It is believed to have been built in the 16th century by Dang Hyang Nirartha.
After passing through and seeing the Tanah Lot, he decided to persuade local fishermen
to build a shrine dedicated to the god of the sea, Bhatara Segara, according to Balinese beliefs.
