📅 Itinerary
Day 1: Ubud Art and Culture Immersion Tour
Start your journey early in the morning at the misty Tegallalang Rice Terraces. Standing among the layers of green waves, watch local farmers plow the fields with traditional water buffaloes as sunlight filters through the coconut trees, casting dappled shadows. In the afternoon, visit the Ubud Palace to admire the exquisite carvings of 17th-century Balinese architecture, then stroll through the Ubud Art Market to pick out hand-painted Batik wax fabrics and wooden carvings. In the evening, interact closely with long-tailed macaques at the Monkey Forest Sanctuary, and at sunset, return to a bamboo restaurant by the terraces to savor roasted suckling pig rice paired with Balinese spiced tea.
Day 2: Uluwatu Cliffs and Beach Party
Drive early to Uluwatu Temple and watch the Kecak fire dance performance in front of the ancient stone temple atop the cliff, where dancers use vocal chants to mimic a monkey army, as the sunset dyes the cliffs golden red. In the afternoon, head to Uluwatu Beach for a surfing lesson, with waves crashing over the reefs and beginners clumsily standing up and falling under the coach’s guidance. In the evening, move to Jimbaran Beach to join a seafood barbecue party, walking on soft sand with bonfires and starlight reflecting on the calm sea, while fishing boat lights sparkle like scattered diamonds in the distance.
Day 3: Holy Spring Temple Purification and Volcanic Hot Spring Healing
Early morning visit to the Holy Spring Temple in Tampaksiring for a traditional purification ritual in the millennia-old spring water, where locals dressed in white sarongs press their hands together and pass under the water flowing from the stone dragon’s mouth. In the morning, drive to Mount Batur and hike along the crater rim, overlooking the deep blue volcanic lake and smoking volcanic cone. In the afternoon, soak in the natural hot springs at the foot of the volcano, where sulfur water soothes muscle fatigue, surrounded by frangipani and lemongrass. On the way back in the evening, stop by a traditional market to buy coffee beans and handmade soaps as souvenirs, concluding a fulfilling Bali trip.
