At Plaza Garuda in GWK Cultural Park, stands a breathtaking, monumental statue—the head of Garuda.
This is no ordinary decoration, but a divine bird symbolizing freedom, protection, and loyalty. According to Hindu mythology, Garuda is the mount of the god Vishnu, a divine being half-human, half-bird. Its wings, when spread, can obscure the sky, and its piercing gaze symbolizes fearless protection.
Approaching the statue, one senses its majestic presence: the delicately carved feathers and the majestic expression between its brows make it seem as if it is about to take flight. Standing beneath it, visitors feel insignificant yet awe-inspired by a sense of power.
This is not only a showcase for Balinese culture and art, but also a spiritual symbol—a reminder that even between heaven and earth, courage and faith can soar high.
