Bali: The Romance of Equatorial Winds and the Azure Horizon.
As the wind swept across the equator, I stood at the edge of the Indian Ocean 🌊.
Soaring on a paraglider in Bali, the azure expanse of 8° South Latitude unfolded beneath me. And at the cliffs of Nusa Penida, I truly understood the marvels of nature's craftsmanship – the 'T'-shaped rock formation of Kelingking Beach reaching out to the sea, the caves of Broken Beach exhaling waves, and as far as the eye could see, a flowing blue-green jelly sea.
From the misty cliffs at sunrise to the sea dyed by the afterglow at sunset, every moment of this summer was filled with anticipation and romance 🌅, worth remembering for a lifetime.
Bali Travel Tips
1. Core Experience Guide
- Paragliding Options: For value for money, choose Timbis Base. You can fly for 10-15 minutes for 200-300 RMB. There are fewer people and shorter queues, but remember to confirm the new base's location in advance. If you want complete facilities and an influencer-worthy experience, Riug Base is more suitable, including free GoPro filming, but you'll need to allow 1 hour for queuing. Try to straighten your legs during flight for more flattering photos.
- Nusa Penida Activities: It's recommended to explore the East and West routes over two days. The West route includes Kelingking Beach, Angel's Billabong, and Broken Beach. The East route offers snorkeling at Crystal Bay (you might spot manta rays from July to October) and photos at the Tree House. Semar Cliff is an excellent spot for sunset views. Road conditions on the island are poor, so it's recommended to hire a private car or join a tour. Bring motion sickness medication and non-slip shoes.
2. Food, Accommodation, and Pitfalls to Avoid
- Food Recommendations: For cliffside ocean views, choose Malini Uluwatu; seafood with a sunset is incredibly pleasant. If you want to taste local flavors, Bebek Bengil (Dirty Duck Diner)'s signature dish paired with pastoral scenery is a classic. Avoid the overpriced seafood in Jimbaran; Seminyak's beachfront restaurants are fresh and affordable.
- Accommodation Options: For beautiful views, choose The Ungasan Clifftop Resort, where you can watch the stars from sunset. To experience local charm, Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve, offers stunning scenery. For family trips, Club Med is recommended, offering all-inclusive packages with a kids' club.
3. Niche Alternatives and Tips
- Pitfall Avoidance Guide: Kuta Beach can be chaotic with tourists; consider Canggu instead. Tanah Lot Temple can be crowded; go to Uluwatu Temple for cliffside sunsets. Ubud Market is highly commercialized; try the hidden gem of Tibumana Waterfall.
- Practical Reminders: The sun on Nusa Penida is intense, so make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen. Paragliding and snorkeling are highly dependent on weather conditions, so be sure to contact the operators before departure to confirm if the experience can proceed as planned.
