Background
Padma Resort Ubud is a five-star resort nestled in Payangan, about 30-40 minutes north of central Ubud, Bali. Spread across ~11 hectares of lush land overlooking the river valley and bamboo forests, it has 149 rooms and suites that all have private balconies or terraces with scenic views.
The design blends contemporary Balinese architecture with local art — handcrafted wood details, locally woven fabrics, carved ornamentation, and artworks by Balinese artists visible throughout the property.
What Makes It Worth Visiting
• The 89-metre heated infinity pool is a standout. Perched above the valley, with glass-walkways and panoramic views, it’s both dramatic and peaceful.
• Plenty of nature & wellness on offer: an agroforestry garden that supplies fresh herbs, fruits, vegetables; walking / jogging trails through gardens and down to river valley; kids’ club; animal garden and lagoon; spa with Asian-inspired treatments; yoga and cultural classes.
• Dining is elevated: Puhu Restaurant & Lounge gives 180-degree views of forest & valley; The Pool Café & Bar and The Lounge offer good casual bites with great scenery; Sunken Pool Bar and Wine Lounge round out the options.

My Impression
Staying at Padma Resort Ubud feels like a beautiful pause from the world. From waking up to mist among bamboo trees, to swimming above the valley in the infinity pool, to enjoying quiet moments at the spa or strolling the gardens — everything invites relaxation. The balance is excellent: enough luxury to feel pampered, but not so much that it loses the natural charm and genuineness of Bali. Evenings at Puhu Restaurant with views at sunset felt memorable. It’s one of the rare resorts where you want part of your trip just to stay in and soak it all in.
