A Blissful Retreat at Alamanda

I’ve relished a thoroughly enjoyable 3-night stay here. Highlights include the two serene swimming pools, a jacuzzi nestled in the gardens, the gorgeous gardens themselves—so colorful, lively, joyous, and tropical. The elevated hillside setting is remarkably peaceful and calming, with bird songs echoing throughout the day. The yoga studio offers a stunning view, and I highly suggest the sunset yoga session. The staff were all friendly and efficient, while the on-site owners were very welcoming—I even had the chance to watch rugby with the owner at the bar, which was super fun! The WiFi is extremely fast, and there are complimentary transfers to and from Lovina main beach. But the biggest highlight for me was swimming with wild dolphins! Alamanda has its own boat and captain (his wife works as the receptionist), who was great on both excursions. Visiting Lovina during my 3-week solo trip to Bali, my main goal was to swim with dolphins, so I went both mornings. It was indescribably magical and special. Definitely opt for the 8am tour, as the earlier sunrise one can be too crowded. Although it was still busy, I saw numerous dolphins. It's a bit disheartening how the boats chase the dolphins, creating a race between vessels, but when they pause, and you glance under the sea to spot the dolphins, time seems to halt, enveloping you in an indescribable peace. I cherished my dolphin experience, as well as my time in Lovina and Alamanda. The only downside is that the resort rooms need some updating, including the towels, and breakfast is rather basic compared to other places I’ve stayed in Bali. Fruit isn’t listed on the menu, but you can request it, and they’ll provide. I would definitely stay here again for the setting and location 🙌🩷
