📣 #DriveAwayAndTakeABreak! Relax and try this rare treat! Teochew Roti, the only one in Thailand, at Bang Noi Floating Market, Samut Songkhram! ✨

If you visit Bang Noi Floating Market (Bang Khonthi District, Samut Songkhram Province) and don't stop by to try this, it's like you haven't arrived! Today, we're following the directions to try "Teochew Roti," a legendary traditional dessert passed down through the generations of Teochew Chinese families and available only here! It's a must-try for the market's iconic and iconic dish.

The shop's atmosphere is an old wooden house by the canal, a true classic of a nearly 100-year-old floating market, giving it a classic and warm feel. Importantly, the owner, an auntie, makes the Teochew Roti fresh, showing you every step of the way. The process is unlike anything we're used to!

Teochew Roti (or "Luo Guo" in Teochew) isn't simply a simple slap of dough like regular roti. Instead, it's a thin, lightly pan-fried dough wrapped in a secret recipe filling.
Their filling is truly amazing! It's a combination of coarsely ground roasted peanuts (still crunchy and enjoyable to chew), fragrant roasted sesame seeds (the sesame aroma is particularly noticeable), and brown sugar, providing just the right amount of sweetness.
Once you try it, you'll understand why this is a rare and legendary treat! The dough is soft and chewy, not thick or hard. When you wrap it around the filling and bite into it, you'll experience the sweet, creamy, and fragrant flavors of all the ingredients. It's a perfect balance of soft dough, crispy peanuts, and fragrant roasted sesame seeds. It's a truly traditional flavor you won't find anywhere else.
The owner, an auntie, shared that this dessert was created by her Teochew grandmother, and was originally made for the pre-Chinese New Year ceremony. However, it's now a local delicacy that you can enjoy every week.

For those who want to experience the deliciousness and charm of this ancient floating market, we recommend coming on Saturday or Sunday. The shop is only open on Saturdays and Sundays from approximately 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM (or until sold out). The price is very reasonable: just 20 baht for 3 pieces per cup!

If you're visiting Samut Songkhram, don't forget to try Teochew Roti, a traditional dessert that's hard to find at Bang Noi Floating Market. Guaranteed deliciousness and beautiful photos, you'll definitely take home with you! 😊
