Wat Phichaiyatikararam Worawihan, Bangkok
ðIt is an old temple, but Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Phichaiyati (That Bunnag) renovated it in the reign of King Rama III because Somdet Chao Phraya Ong Noi at that time was the Lord of the Treasury and had a junk trading with China. Therefore, he brought ship's rudders, colored tiles, and stones from China to renovate. The architecture of this temple is a mixture of Thai and Chinese, which was the royal style at that time.
ðThe ordination hall is built in Chinese style, without a gable or raka leaf. Because in the past, the temple was in a garden, it was built to avoid branches and fruits that might fall or break and hit the roof of the ordination hall. The principal Buddha image in the ordination hall is a molded Buddha image in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, an ancient Buddha image of the same generation as Phra Buddha Chinnarat, named "Phra Siddhartha" or as the general public calls him "Luang Pho Somprathan".
ðŠ·The large prang houses four molded Buddha images, facing four directions. There are two small prangs. The eastern one houses the Bodhisattva Sri Ariya. The western one houses four replicas of the Buddha's footprints, carved on stone slabs.
