#VisitBangkok

Wat Kanmatuyaram
.. is a small temple of the Dhammayuttika sect, located on Mangkon Road, Samphanthawong District, Bangkok, surrounded by a community of Thai-Chinese people.
.. This temple was built in 1864, towards the end of the reign of King Rama IV, by Mrs. Kleep Sakornwasi, the daughter of Grandma Faeng, the owner of a brothel in the Sampeng area.
.. Wat Kanmatuyaram means "the temple built by Mr. Kan's mother".
.. The area of this temple is quite narrow. The important place of worship is a bell-shaped pagoda in Sri Lankan style, built to imitate the Dhammekh Stupa in India. There are only 2 pagodas of this type in Thailand. In addition to this place, there is another one, Wat Sommanas Ratchaworawihan.
