🏡Wat Prasat Boonyawat was built around 1833. It was originally named Wat Khlong Samsen and Wat Khwit because there was a large Makhuat tree near the chapel. Around 1944, it was changed to Wat Prasat Boonyawat.
🏕In 1921, Wang Sukhothai and the temple exchanged land behind the temple, allowing the front of the temple to expand and open onto the road.
🙏🏽Later, in 1955, there was a fire at the chapel and the monk's quarters. The abbot of Wat Chang Hai dreamed that Luang Pu Thuat would come to help restore the temple because Luang Pu Thuat often pitched his tent in this area. This was the starting point for the creation of Luang Pu Thuat amulets at Wat Prasat Boonyawat. The income was used to build a new chapel, which was completed in 1941.
The important and interesting things in the temple are as follows:
🏠The chapel is in a traditional Thai style according to the current trend. The principal Buddha image, the Buddha in the Mara-Vijaya posture, is enshrined on a raised base with a glass pavilion.
🛕A small bell-shaped pagoda, originally white.
🙏🏽A large gold-painted statue of Luang Pu Thuat in the diamond meditation posture.
