Qiushui Square sits on the banks of the Gan River, facing the Tengwang Pavilion across the river. The open square boasts Asia's largest musical fountain. At night, the fountain transforms into graceful shapes in sync with the lights and music, perfectly evoking the line from "Preface to the Pavilion of Prince Teng": "The setting sun and the lone wild goose fly together, the autumn water and the vast sky merge into one color." It's a highly recommended option for a nighttime tour of Nanchang.
During the day, the square is sparsely populated, but at night, the flashing neon lights, strolling couples, and playful children add a touch of warmth and romance to the square. The musical fountain typically performs twice each evening, each lasting approximately 25 minutes. The highest water column can reach over 100 meters, a truly spectacular sight. Next to Qiushui Square is a Taiwanese snack street and an amusement park. Enjoy the musical fountain while gazing at the stunning Tengwang Pavilion across the river. After a few minutes of play, grab a bite to eat and relax at the snack street—it's a truly unique and exciting part of Nanchang's leisure life.
If you like quietness, you can also take a walk along the cultural corridor by the river. There is a nearly three-kilometer-long "Gan Cultural Corridor" along the Ganjiang River. The corridor uses sculptures, murals, small gardens and other forms to show the deeds of famous people and scholars in Jiangxi throughout the ages, from Tao Yuanming to Tang Xianzu, from Huang Tingjian to Xie Lingyun. Walking along the way and taking a closer look, you can see the profoundness of Gan culture.
