After wrapping up a relaxing island getaway in Hua Hin, I took a bus yesterday to officially kick off my urban sightseeing tour in Bangkok. The past two days have been packed with activities, leaving my legs sore from all the walking. I visited various shopping centers, explored Pratunam Temple and Wat Arun, and even enjoyed a boat ride along the Chao Phraya River.
My transportation experiences in Bangkok have been quite diverse—I tried the Skytrain, subway, motorbike taxis, and ride-hailing services, though I couldn't quite figure out how to use the buses. Riding a motorbike taxi was particularly thrilling; the high speed and the sudden drop when going downhill gave me a heart-pounding sense of weightlessness. On the other hand, transferring between the Skytrain and subway proved inconvenient, as it required exiting the station and purchasing a new ticket. Today, I even mistakenly inserted my hotel room key into the subway turnstile, thinking it was my subway card. It took some effort and a helpful staff member to resolve the mix-up.
Bangkok's attractions and transportation systems are uniquely charming. Although the journey has been a bit hectic, every experience has left a lasting impression and deepened my understanding of this vibrant city. I'm looking forward to more exciting adventures in Bangkok.
