🇹🇭 Modern Comfort with a Personal Touch – Carlton Hotel Sukhumvit

We were initially considering Sofitel for our Bangkok stay, but decided to give Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit a try instead since it’s newer—and we’re glad we did.

From the moment we arrived, the hotel made a great first impression. The modern exterior design stood out, and the lobby was stylish, clean, and welcoming. We were greeted warmly by the bellboy right as we stepped in, and that small gesture really set the tone. Check-in was quick and smooth, handled by a friendly (and beautiful!) receptionist, which added a nice personal touch.

We were pleasantly surprised to receive an upgrade to a room on the 27th floor. While the room size was standard for Bangkok, the city views were fantastic. We could even see the pool area from our window. The room was well-designed with modern furniture, and the bathroom came with both a separate shower and a bathtub—perfect for winding down after a long day.

A special shoutout to the team for the lovely anniversary surprise. They decorated the room beautifully with rose petals and delivered a cake. It was a really sweet gesture that we didn’t expect, and it made our stay that much more memorable.

The swimming pool, though stylish, felt a little small, and there weren’t many loungers—so head down early if you want a good spot. We had some drinks poolside and the staff were friendly and attentive.

The gym and massage shop are located on the same level as the pool. The gym was well-equipped with new machines, and we appreciated the added bonus of sauna and steam rooms available in the nearby washrooms.

We also checked out the rooftop bar, which offered the expected stunning skyline views along with good service. It’s a nice spot to end the day.

All in, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay. The hotel is sleek, service was consistently good, and the location is convenient. That said, it felt like it was almost at that five-star “wow” level—it just needed that extra bit of charm or polish to make the experience truly exceptional.
