Take a trip to pray to the Hindu deities at Visnu Temple in the Yannawa area. This temple is over a hundred years old. Upon entering, you will see the Visnu chapel. You can park inside the temple grounds. Walk up the stairs to the upper floor to find the polytheistic altar.
Looking inside, you will see the statues of Lord Visnu and Goddess Lakshmi. On the right side are the statues of Lord Ganesha along with his consorts, Goddess Buddhi and Goddess Siddhi. On the left side is the statue of Goddess Sri Uma Devi.
The praying process is very simple. There is a guide for worshippers to follow. You can walk and pray at the different points according to the guide on your own. You can bring your own offerings or make a donation and buy them at the temple for 50 baht per set.
The offerings include flowers, garlands, milk, water, sweet drinks, grains, and fruits (bringing meat, savory food, alcohol, or cigarettes into the temple is prohibited).
At each praying point, after making your wishes, place one flower from the tray at each spot:
1. Lord Ganesha – for success
2. Goddess Uma Devi – for smooth work
3. Lord Hanuman – for followers and loyalty
4. Lord Sitaram – for victory over enemies and competitors
5. Lord Visnu and Goddess Lakshmi – for luck, finances, work, and success
6. Lord Krishna and Goddess Radha – for love and children
7. The Buddha
After completing all 7 points, you can go to the Brahmin in the temple. The Brahmin will mark your forehead and perform the eye-opening ceremony for you.
Additionally, point 8 is Lord Shiva for work and success. Point 9 is located at the bottom of the chapel, where there are many other deities. Light 9 incense sticks, make a wish, and ring the bell.
📍 Soi Charoen Rat, Thung Wat Don Subdistrict, Sathorn District, or take the BTS to Surasak Station, exit 2 or 4, then take a vehicle to the temple.
