Drawn to Dusk

Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit unsettled, like there are many things on my mind—work, life, and relationships. So, I wanted to find some quiet time to calm my mind and visit a sacred place... and then I suddenly thought of the “Sanghi Thapthim Shrine.”
The Sanghi Thapthim Shrine is located right by the Chao Phraya River near Bang Phlat. It’s an old Chinese shrine highly respected by Thai-Chinese people. It’s said that those who come to worship here often have their wishes granted, especially regarding family, love, and blessings for children and descendants.
That day, I arrived at the shrine in the late morning. The weather was just right—clear skies but not too hot. The first thing I noticed was the peacefulness of the old shrine by the river. Looking at it brought a calm feeling that’s hard to describe. The shrine isn’t grand or extravagant, but it feels sacred and welcoming at the same time.
I prepared a small offering set with fruit, tea, and red flowers according to tradition. After lighting incense, I stood in front of the statue of Thapthim to pray. It felt like talking to someone who was ready to listen without judgment.
I prayed for stable love, a warm family, and most importantly, for myself to be strong enough to get through everything. I don’t know if the goddess heard me, but I just know that my heart really calmed down at that moment.
After worshiping, I sat by the riverside, watching boats pass by and the sunlight reflecting on the water. Then I realized that sometimes life doesn’t need much more than peace of mind at a certain moment.
Don’t miss it!
