Grown up… do you still remember the sparkle in your childhood eyes?

If we could go back to explore our childhood once more, would we still see the world the same way? “Young Poem” is an exhibition that invites us to explore the evolving perspectives through the philosophy of youth, by artist Krisanapon Piapaiboon.
“Young Poem” reinterprets the philosophy of youth by questioning the beliefs and overlooked things from childhood. The artist brings the philosophy and thoughts of youth—a time full of fun, dreams, and courage—into the present context to encourage us to reflect on how our understanding and consciousness change as we gradually grow up.
Each exhibited piece is connected under the same theme. Although the stories differ, they all rest on the foundation of reflecting on life, self-understanding, and the world through maturing eyes. For example, ‘Lady Nightingale’ tells of giving without expecting anything in return, through the image of a woman from the past quietly helping others, symbolizing values that may not be immediately recognized but become clear over time. ‘When the ocean miss the sand’ uses the image of a sheep in the sea as a metaphor for the feeling of “being in the wrong place,” reflecting the heavy feeling when we are out of sync with life’s rhythm. ‘Be you, not them’ straightforwardly encourages viewers to dare to be themselves and not follow anyone else’s mold. And ‘may be the moon beautiful only because it is far’ questions the image and beauty we once admired from afar, suggesting that some truths may not be so beautiful when seen up close.
As we grow up, some things may be viewed differently. Let’s explore the poetry of youth reinterpreted through the colors of memory and the questions of growing up in the “Young Poem” exhibition.
