Worship Luang Pho To at Wat Kanlayan

📍..Wat Kanlayanamit Woramahawihan is located at Soi Arun Amarin 6, Arun Amarin Road, Wat Kanlayan Subdistrict, Thonburi District, Bangkok, by the Chao Phraya River on the Thonburi side, near the southern mouth of Bangkok Yai Canal.

📒..The important Buddha image of the temple is Phra Phuttha Trairattana Nayok, or Luang Pho To, who is highly revered, especially among the Chinese community. It is known in Chinese as Sam Poh Hud Gong or Sam Pok Kong. It is a stucco Buddha image in the Mara Vichai posture.

🗒️..King Nangklao (Rama III) graciously ordered the construction of this Buddha image as a royal grant to Chao Phraya Nikhon Bodin. The consecration ceremony was held on May 18, 1837. It is housed inside a large vihara in the middle of the temple, between the small vihara and the ubosot.
