Golden Boy

Golden Boy, National Museum, Bangkok
This bronze sculpture of Lord Shiva dates from around the 16th Buddhist century, approximately 900-1,000 years ago. It stands 129 cm tall and is cast in gilded bronze. Its style resembles the bronze sculptures of Lord Shiva or Dvaravati from Prasat Sakamphaeng Yai, Sisaket Province. This sculpture demonstrates the advancement and technical expertise of ancient metalworkers.
